Araniella cucurbitina female on an oak leaf. These very colorful spiders are typically found on old oak trees, on the lower leaves, only up to about 6 feet high. They rarely build their webs any higher than that. The abdomens of the adults can vary between a bright lemon yellow, to an almost dayglo green.
